Management Team

Aims and Objectives

This workshop formed part of Tuschemy’s Development and Empowerment Series and aimed to deepen self-awareness and strengthen communication skills within the Management team through experiential learning, reflection, and open discussion.

Workshop Overview

The team revisited their personality profiles and Johari matrix from Workshop 1, reflecting on growth and development since their first session. Through back-to-back Lego building — where partners had to construct identical structures using verbal instruction alone — the team experienced firsthand how clarity, patience, and active listening determine whether a message truly lands. A closing morse code challenge pushed the team to communicate non-verbally, reinforcing just how much intention real communication requires.

Key Insights

The team identified the full journey of effective communication as: sender → message → receiver → listen → understanding → confirmation → feedback. When ranking their communication skills, attitudes and values, message clarity, transparency and honesty, and timing and content rose to the top.

Outcomes

The workshop prompted genuine self-reflection from the Management team — a sign of the psychological safety and growth mindset being built within the group.
“It was a lot harder than I imagined giving instruction without seeing the person’s reactions. I had to plan what I was saying very carefully.”
“I thought I was a good listener — obviously not. This is something I need to improve upon.”
