Vutha Santos Football Club — Eleven Years of Supporting Youth Development
Some partnerships are about more than a logo on a kit. Tuschemy Chemicals has supported Vutha Santos Football Club for eleven years — and what started with a donation of soccer and training equipment has grown into a relationship that is making a real difference in young people’s lives.
Established in 1996, Vutha Santos trains at the ACJ Phakade sport field and competes in junior league competitions across six age-group divisions — from Under-10 through to Open Youth. Today the club has 146 players, ranging in age from 9 to 23, all developing their football skills alongside equally important life skills: discipline, teamwork, commitment, respect and perseverance.
Tuschemy’s involvement began with sponsoring soccer and training equipment, and expanded in 2021 to include the team’s official match kit — giving players the pride and identity that comes with pulling on a proper strip.
The Coach Who Bridges Two Worlds
One of the most meaningful aspects of this partnership is the role of Thabang Masiu. Thabang works in the Operations Division at Tuschemy Chemicals and coaches the Vutha Santos youth team — and he sees a direct connection between the two. The teamwork, communication, leadership and discipline that drive success on the shopfloor are exactly the qualities he builds in his players. His coaching focuses not just on football skills but on helping young people develop confidence, accountability, resilience and a strong team ethic.
Impact Beyond the Final Whistle
The club’s impact reaches well beyond football. Sport plays a vital role in keeping young people positively engaged and away from the social challenges that too often affect their communities. Through Vutha Santos, players learn unity, self-confidence, self-respect and resilience — and parents have expressed genuine appreciation for the structured, supportive environment the club provides.
The club’s achievements reflect the dedication of everyone involved — players, coaches, families and supporters. Recent highlights include the U12 Champions title at the 2025 Lwandle Ward Tournament and the First Team Youth winning the 2024 Gastrow Championship.
