Aims and Objectives
This workshop formed part of Tuschemy’s Development and Empowerment Series and aimed to develop the teamwork skills, attitudes and values that build a thriving team within Tuschemy’s Factory Staff.
Workshop Overview
Using the Toyota Kata process, the team worked through timed puzzle-building challenges across multiple rounds, requiring constant strategy refinement and clear communication. Every group showed improvement by the final round. The team then assessed twenty teamwork traits individually before collaborating on a shared set of values. A team slogan and song activity brought out the best of the group — collaboration, creativity and competitive spirit in full force. The workshop concluded with a tallest tower challenge, requiring each team to plan their strategy, define roles, and build the tallest free-standing structure from identical materials.
Key Insights
The Factory team aligned strongly around six core teamwork values: a clear plan of action, effective communication, discipline, defined roles and responsibilities, respect, and ensuring every team member knows their role. Puzzle results improved across all five groups as strategies sharpened with each round.
Outcomes
The workshop closed on a note that captured everything the day stood for: “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” The Foundation laid in this workshop will feed directly into the next session, focusing on self and team leadership and becoming a Tuschemy brand ambassador.
